Writing Contest

Hello everyone:

I just entered this writing competition for Writers Digest. I entered a slightly revised version of my "The Sibling War" short story.

You can enter here http://www.writersdigest.com/contests/annual/75th/

The entry fee is only $15 for your first piece, and $10 for every other one you enter.

Give it a go!

GRAND PRIZE: $3,000 cash and an all-expense paid trip to New York City to meet with editors or agents. Writer's Digest will fly you and a guest to The Big Apple, where you'll spend three days and two nights in the publishing capital of the world. While you're there, a Writer's Digest editor will escort you to meet and share your work with four editors or agents! Plus, you'll receive a free Diamond Publishing Package from Outskirts Press.

Entry Deadline: Monday, May 15, 2006.

Happy Writing!

Apparently, it's at this stage you have to persist even more. I've written hundreds of essays and some fiction with little recognition. You're not alone. For me, what's been harder to handle is how for years I've been told to make writing my profession by English teachers, Univeristy professors and a national columnist only to ignore their suggestions. When I did decide to do so, it's been very hard to find success. Granted, it's only 10 months since I decided to explore this realm...still....it can test your confidence and pride. Write for love....the rest should follow.
